how do you shove 4 5 1/4" fullheight seagate elite 9's in a midtower case
as
to configure them striped in pairs (IE a 18gig type 1 raid)?? lots of screws
and a small welder... well.. welder was to expensive, so i just used a
fucking car bartery (not mine i lifted it from a naibors car) and used small
wire (stolen from teh same naibors garrage) and tacked some brackets here
and there, then used your fan overclocking mod to the cool the POS.. now..
why do i need a 18gig raid??? for a fucking in house pr0n server, i don't
want to loose any pr0n, and i wanted some pr0n for the bathroom (in house
network)... now i can network machines and have fast reliable pr0n anywhere
in the house!!!

well nothing much to it really, i mean, you don't want to use the battery
out of your car, but figure for smaller welding wires 25-40 amps of DC 12v
is more than enough for mild steel rods. I know this becuase i work as a
machinist/welder/faber/cnc programmer/cnc destroyer (job shop work is
great!). now its not pretty welds, infact i'm suprised they held at all
given that each of these drives weighed in at about 9lbs.. and the whole
assembly shook precariosly during the head check. @_@. I just nabbed a set
of jumper cables (my roomates) connected the - end to the case and the + the
rod and struck an arc. It works fine with the soft thin steels found
inside a ocmpter case, infact it was a little too hot! I had to work pretty
damn fast to keep from disentgrating the steel. I guess if i weren't so
fucking cheap i could build a current limiting circut but seems more work
than its worth. Also battery life is well.. lo, really lo, and the battery
is unoperational.. they don't particually like being shorted out that way,
and i would say there's a pretty good chance it could explode. I was fully
prepared to let go of the rod if it got stuck to the part. Sometimes if
there isn't enough heat the rod welds itself to what your trying to weld.
ON thinking about this probably not a bad idea to put something over the
batter to contain the acid when it nukes :\ ummmm come to think of it..
just becuase i did it, doesn't mean anyone else should :) but anyhow

ok ok, so i nab the naibors car bat and get ready for some fun, he forgot
something, came back, we got into a scrap and he broke my arm!!! well, more
i broke y arm hittging him in the head :P, fucking hard heraded perl coders
