Now to avoid any possiblelawsuits from that nasty Lionel Hutz guy, I must say one thing beforemoving on: BE CAREFUL! *Mm-hai*. Unless you are a scientific geniusyou can hurt yourself pretty bad playing around with electronics. The capacitors(tubular blue thingies for the uneducated) in a Playstation's power supplycan hold a charge for quite a long time even after the unit has been turnedoff- so don't put your fingers anywhere near their pins. On the other handby shorting out the capacitors with a common household screwdriver thehigh voltage can create some spectacular sparking effects! *Flayven*.

Now upon opening the psx you will find that on the left is the psx'spower supply. This converts the 120V AC you get from your walloutlet to various (much lower) DC voltages that are used by the psx'smotherboard which is on the right. In order to separate the two and allowfor more flexibility in the placement of the psx system inside the pc case,I simply spliced the power wires with some of my own wire to make everythingmuch longer.

Of course, if Sony had followed my example of pioneering microwave powertransmission techniques within my Frinkiac-7 computer, we wouldn't havehad this problem.

Next I began to have some fun modifying the case's front panelto accomodate all the necessary Playstation components. I used myfusion powered 50 megawatt xeon laser to make the holes in the plastic.Since I am still waiting for my patent to clear on that device, youwill have to make do with an ordinary rotary tool (often called a 'dremel')to do the job as shown in the pictures.

.........

Finally a file was used to round off the edges where the controllerports go.

The strange 'hand-like' object in the pictures can only be explainedby intense background radiation in the lab forming a Z axis in our universe..creating a 'third dimension' - a phenomenon I have only witnessedonce before. *Ngu-hey*.

The Playstation's controller ports are normally connected to the mainboardvia the little flat ribbon cable shown below. This cable was much too shortfor the project, but I was lucky to find a much longer cable of thesame type in a local vcr repair store (you can see it in previous pictures). This was probably the hardest, but most necessary part of the project -if you can't manage to find one don't even bother trying this case mod.
